What a sweet heartfelt post. You made me want to give my boys a big hug. And I’m soooo with you on the Wiggles. Men in colorful tights singing songs to children are creepy. My husband says that the Wiggles and all other men to star in children’s shows wearing skin tight outfits should be put on the sexual predator list immediately.

I know that feeling well – my favourite place to be was cuddling a sleeping 2 year old who had woken too early from an afternoon nap. They always did wake too early – so they would also climb onto my lap and then go back to sleep. I’d lie there enjoying the moment, knowing full well that the time would be short, and soon those naps wouldn’t even happen in the first place.

The only problem was when you realised that the tv remote, and your fast cooling coffee were both now out of reach!

awww, this is so touching! There definately is something about a sleeping child that is so angelic and makes you want to just grab them in the moment and stop them from ever growing up. As you mentioned on my blog, we seem to have similar 2 year olds. Mine is right now sitting on my lap as I type around him. My husband calls him my little shadow, he is constantly attched to me, which is quite a feat considering I also have a baby!

What a beautiful post . . . and so true. My little guy (who is also 2) can irritate the daylights out of me and even while he’s doing it, I often think how cute he is. (Definitely helps with making it through those moments!)

Hello Blia,

I can’t believe how long it has been for me to come to visit with you at your website. Life is way too consuming.

Anyway, I love your description of the endless battle between sleep and children. I fear that we can’t win unless we invite super nanny to come train our children for us. I for one am losing the battle.
